Against good sense? Never.

[Only a Barrayaran equates ruthlessness to common sense. After another beat, he reengages the game... the strategy this time certainly holds the ghost of his previous one, alike enough to call them neighbors, but it's goals ran a bit different, chewing at Tex's lines in bites and retreats.]

[ So that's what he's planning. Hm. She takes a moment to consider the board, run through potential scenarios, before starting to rearrange her play to require him to take riskier maneuvers should he wish to continue that little game of his.

This round isn't over yet, but that doesn't stop her from teasing, ] Good. I have to say, you handle losing well.

[He's holding out well, but the beginning of the end can be seen in his eroding defenses.]

[Okay, but Aral is in fact 44 going on 13 on some subjects. Lightflyers and explosions being peak in those.]

[ She looks down at the board, figures out the fastest solution to victory, and begins to put the plan into practice. ]

[He hesitates seeing the shift in her strategy, watching the suddenly aggressive closing in. He COULD let it go, but... pride demands at least a damn good shot at a counter attack.]

[ There's a small grumble when he decides not to give up that easily. They could be that much closer to explosions, but she likes the fight. It takes her longer, but she manages to win. ]

Now can we take it out back and get rid of it?

You're serious? You're serious. Marvelous. Give me a moment.

[He gets up, with a bit of a childish grin, to rummage through the supply cabinet.]

Why the hell wouldn't I be serious?

[ While he's messing with the cabinet, she's getting all the pieces in the box to make it easier to transport. The lid can stay on the bottom however. She has a feeling it'll be more impressive to have it explode with its' top off. ]

Strange ideas of societal standards of adulthood and responsibility. I'm quite glad we have that cleared up.

[He returns with an aerosol canister of something and a bottle of something else.]

Please. Unlike kids, we have an easier time getting a hold of explosives ourselves.

[ She has the box in hand and is ready to lead the way to the backyard. She might be happy to cause an explosion, but she's not going to cause one inside. ]

Hm. Apparently, it's still the wrong season for fireworks. The gunpowder would make it even easier.

[Both set, he follows her outside into the back yard, finding a spot mostly clear of grass to start with, not particularly close to either government townhouse... It's a bit of work from here, clearing a bit of a trench, the canister is laid in it, deep enough for the box to sit flat... and the liquid, a clear, pungent smelling chemical is poured around it deep enough to puddle.

He trots back to Tex and after a moments consideration, takes the stunner from his hip, and offers it to her.]

Care to do the honors?

[ She is more than happy to let him do the hard part. She stands back and watches him in appreciation. Yeah, that's going to cause a nice little explosion.

When he offers the stunner, she smiles broadly and takes it. ]

I'd be happy to. [ And there's only a moment's delay before she aims and takes fire. ]

[The surge of electricity is, at least, enough to ignite the liquid. It flares up, flames a rather chemical red. The board catches immediately, pieces starting to melt, before there's a faint popping sound and the pitched groan of stressed metal.

Before the canister bursts, pressurized chemicals and the flammable aerosol pitch everything up into a nice, impressive firespout in the middle of the yard. The board, box and pieces land... somewhere in a neighbor's area.]

[ This might be the most gleeful she's looked since arriving here. There's delight in her eyes as she watches the flames shoot up and she has no qualms with whatever collateral damage has happened to the neighbors' yards. That's firmly their problem. ]

We can do that again, right?
