[ The look doesn't make her withdraw her hand and she nods firmly when he finally makes the smart choice.

I'm handling it. [ Said with a touch of smugness. Everything is under control and perfectly normal. ]

[ She waves that off. ] It's fine. He was going to figure it out eventually with me living there.

[He turns that over and returns to where he'd settled, leaning back against the tree. Not exactly without tension, but he'll let her handle inquiries into her own life.]

Publish and be damned, I suppose.

[ She lets out a heavy sigh as she stares at the comm. ] Yeah.

[ There's another minute or so of waiting as she makes sure Miles is done texting before she moves to sit beside him and passes his comm back. ] I think he's given up, for now.

At least that is likely all you will hear. He seems .. reserved on all sexual matters but his own.

[ She nods. ] Good. It's not anyone's business, but mine and Cordelia's. [ She adds after a beat, ] And yours.

[ Cordelia is his wife after all. ]

[That gets a raised brow.]

I've long since passed the age when I thought marriage was a form of ownership, thankfully. What you have is quite distinct and seems to make both of you amazingly happy. If to judge merely by the smile she gets when we speak of it.

[ She snorts. ]

That isn't what I meant, but I'm glad to hear it. I more meant, if anyone has a right to know what's going on, you rank on the list. I'm not looking to go behind anyone's backs.

[He offers a half smile.]

[ It's returned with a wry one of her own. ]

[He starts to say something to that... and instead goes to look at the phone conversation with Miles.

This, my friends, is a veritable rainbow of expression as he reads through the short conversation.]

That..... He is more than a little drunk.

[ Wrong thing to say? Maybe he's not as interested as she thought. There's a small frown on her face as she watches him out of the corner of her eyes.

Not that her conversation with Miles must be helping any. ]

Yeah, I could tell. Cordelia's going to be more blunt with him.

[He catches only a glimpse of that frown and subdues himself, unsure of how to take that after the bright mood there HAD been most of this trip.]

With any luck, he'll remember it. I don't envy him on that side of the scalpel today.

Remember it and neglect to bring it up again. I don't know what they were talking about that made that a conversation topic. Apparently he saw us kiss at the meeting during his allergy-induced haze.
